FORMAT: Team competition. Weight classes include: 98, 106, 115, 123, 132,
143, 154, 165, 178, 192, 220, HWT (max. 275). All bouts are five minutes in
length.
RULES: Competition is freestyle and conducted according to the rules as outlined in the 1997-98 AAU Wrestling Handbook. This applies to wrestling techniques as well as conduct, attire and mat performance. QUALIFICATION: Teams are selected by their AAU Association Wrestling Committee or in conjunction with the AAU Association Wrestling Chairman and the AAU Wrestling Executive Committee. AWARDS: Team trophies are awarded to the top four teams. Individual AAU Junior Olympic Games medals will be given to the top eight wrestlers in each weight class. All-American status will be conferred on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers. The "Outstanding Wrestler" will receive the Joel Farrell award.
