FORMAT: All competitions are single round. Aerobic dance categories include
singles, doubles, and full teams. Cheerleading is a team competition for small
(16 & under athletes) and large teams (17-26 athletes). In coed division, 5 or
more boys constitutes large division.
RULES: The 1998 FISAA rules of competition apply for Aerobic Dance. The 1998 National High School Federation Spirit Rulebook will apply for Cheerleading. QUALIFICATION: Aerobic Dance and Cheerleading are open events requiring no preliminary qualifications. AWARDS: XXXII AAU Junior Olympic Games awards medals to top-three individuals/teams, except for team competition where a team plaque and individual ribbons are awarded. Divisions: Aerobics: Singles, Doubles, Full Teams Boys and Girls compete separately. Ages: 9-11, 12-14, 15-17 & 18-20 Cheerleading: Large & Small Teams; Girls & Coed Teams; High School & All Stars. Ages: 13-19 Competition Dates: Aerobics: Aug. 1-2 Cheerleading: Aug. 6-7 Venue: Willett Hall, Portsmouth Competitors: 1997: 604* (including Jump Rope) 1998: 600+
