HEAT SHEETS FOR THE 100 METER FREESTYLE WILL BE AVALIABLE ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 5 DURING WARM-UPS.

AGE DIVISIONS: Girls & Boys: 10 & Under 11-12

ENTRY DEADLINE: All entries must be received by Wednesday, July 14, 1999. Overnight delivery is strongly advised. ALL ENTRIES MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE DEADLINE DATE OR YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE.

ENTRY FEE: $26.00 per swimmer. No personal checks will be accepted. All entry fees must be in the form of either a cashier's check or money order and should be made payable to 1999 AAU Junior Olympic Games. Please do not send cash. No refunds.

ENTRY LIMIT: Three (3) individual events per day, exclusive of relays. Any individual may only swim eight (8) events during the entire meet, exclusive of relays. Relay swimmers can not swim both an association and mixed relay of the same event.

AAU MEMBERSHIP: All athletes and coaches must be members of their AAU Association and be able to present their 1999 AAU membership card at CHECK-IN.

COMPETITION FORMAT: This meet is pre-seeded WITH THE EXCEPTION OF RELAYS WHICH WILL BE DECK ENTERED. All relays and the 400 meter for the 11-12 age group and the 1500 meter for the 13-14 and 15-18 age group events are timed finals only.

RULES: This meet will be an approved competition conducted under United States Swimming (USS) rules.

QUALIFICATION: First, second, and third place finishers in AAU Association Swimming Championship Meets, in individual events, will qualify for this AAU National Championship. In addition, swimmers who meet or beat the U.S. Swimming long course "BB" time standards are eligible to compete. The time standard must have been met during a bona fide competition, whether it was AAU, USS, YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, Parks & Recreation, etc. No attempts against time are acceptable as a means of qualification. No yard times will be accepted. Yard times must be converted to long course times!

AWARDS: INDIVIDUAL: AAU Junior Olympic Games medals will be awarded to the TOP eight (8) finishers in each individual AGE GROUP EVENT. Ribbons will be awarded to athletes placing 9-16.

RELAYS: Determining criteria for Association vs. Mixed Relays:

PRACTICE: Cleveland State University will be open for practice from 12:00 noon - 9:00 pm on Sunday, August 1st.

CHECK-IN: Pre-Registration: It is extremely important that all entries be received in Cleveland no later than Wednesday, July 14, 1999. ENTRY FORM (S) RECEIVED BEYOND THAT DATE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED! Of course, we want as many athletes as possible to participate, so please get all entry forms in on time. Again, guaranteed overnight delivery will become mandatory if it is the only way to ensure compliance with the deadline date.

ENTRY TIME VERIFICATION: The meet director reserves the right to request entry time verification and reject entries whose qualifying times cannot be substantiated.

SCRATCH MEETINGS: Will be held each morning at 8:15 for each morning session. No swimmer may scratch an event to enter another.

DECK ENTRIES: INDIVIDUAL: NO Deck entries will be accepted

FINALS QUALIFIERS: Will have thirty (30) minutes after results are announced to scratch. If you do not scratch from the finals and do not swim, you will be disqualified from the meet. Make sure you check with the meet referee to see where the scratch table will be stationed.

CELEBRATION CEREMONY: The Celebration Ceremony will be held at Gund Arena on Wednesday, August 4 at 7:30 p.m. To facilitate your arrival at the event, the Local Organizing Committee is setting up a hassle free transportation system that will make scheduled pick-ups at convenient locations throughout The Cleveland area and deliver you right to the arena doors. At the conclusion of the Celebration Ceremony, you will board the shuttles and be returned to your parking location. In order to arrive at the arena in time for the festivities, please plan to use the transportation system by utilizing the parking lots located close to your hotel. (A detailed map and parking directions will be provided at athlete check-in at the Cleveland Convention Center). Enjoy the spectacular show without the hassle of restrictive parking. We look forward to seeing you at this year's Celebration Ceremony!
